Vietnamese Cuisine

Vietnamese food is one of the most diverse and healthiest cuisines in the world, with differences ranging from North to South and influences from other cultures. From noodle soup, rice dishes, and finger-licking street food, Vietnamese vegan food is fresh, vibrant, colorful, and delicious!

In Vietnamese, vegan is translated to chay. Vietnamese vegan cuisine is popular and diverse, due to the widespread practice of Buddhism. 15% of Vietnamese people are fully vegetarian, and many eat vegan days on the 1st or 15th of the lunar month.

Yet, overall Vietnamese people eat a lot of meat and almost all of the dishes contain meat or fish sauce. Due to this, after becoming plant-based, I never thought I could enjoy the Vietnamese dishes I used to eat growing up and I was afraid that I would miss out on my cultural foods. Therefore, my mission on Veggie Anh is to inspire people to eat more plant-based by recreating the Vietnamese recipes that I grew up with!
